DIGITAL EUROPE PROGRAM PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT SIGNED

 

The agreement, which enabled Türkiye’s participation in the Digital Europe Programme, was signed on behalf of the Republic of Türkiye by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs, Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay and on behalf of the European Commission, Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton on 31 August 2023.

 

With a total budget of 7.5 billion euros in the 2021-2027 period, Digital Europe Programme aims to establish and develop critical digital infrastructures & technologies across Europe, and to expand the use of these established infrastructures & digital technologies accessible to SMEs, public institutions and citizens.

Within the scope of the Digital Europe Programme, which strengthens the resilience and strategic autonomy of the EU by supporting the Union’s green transition and digital transformation goals, named as twin transformation, Türkiye’s increased cooperation with the EU in the field of digital technologies will also make a significant contribution to the digital transformation of our country. Türkiye participates in all Special Objectives of the Program except “Special Objective 3 – Cyber Security and Trust”.

 

The coordinator institutions of the Programme in Türkiye are the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Presidency Digital Transformation Office.
