INSTRUMENT FOR PRE-ACCESSION ASSISTANCE (IPA)
2014-2020 II PERIOD
IPA II program, which has been redesigned taking into account the experience and outputs of IPA I, also provides project-based grants to candidate and potential candidate countries.
MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
The areas supported in the 7-year IPA II period covering the years 2014-2020 do not differ significantly in terms of their titles compared to the IPA I period. The “Component Approach”of IPA I was replaced with the “Sectoral Approach” in IPA II period. Below are the IPA II sectors and the lead institutions and implementing units/Programme authorities implementing projects under these sectors.
PROJECTS IMPLEMENTED DURING IPA II
In the IPA II period, around 300 projects in 9 sectors were approved with funding of €3.2 billion. Implementation of some of these projects is still ongoing.
